Kennesaw State University Dance Team

  • Tryout Date: Contact coach
  • Tryout Requirements: Full time KSU student and maintenance of at least a 2.5 GPA.  Auditions consist of a warm up/stretch and then across the floor technique/center work.  There is a fitness evaluation as well as Jazz, Hip Hop and Pom choreography.  Tryout attire is a crop top and boy cut shorts.  
  • Team Commitment: Practices are twice a week in the fall, and three times a week in the spring; this does not include appearances and other team events.
  • Team Involvement: Official Dance Team of the University and of Athletics. Dance at all home Men's and Women's Basketball games, tournaments, and other KSU and community events.
  • Perks: All receive priority registration and team gear.  Book scholarships are available for four-year members.  Our budget and fundraisers ensure that members do not have to pay out of pocket for events.

  • Tryout Date: Recruitment is done throughout the year and formal tryouts are held each semester
  • Tryout Requirements: Double Pirouette, choice of turns in second, toe touch, heel stretch, switch leaps, splits, and 4 eights counts of original dance
  • Team Commitment: 4-6 hours a week
  • Perks: Academic/Dance scholarships up to $12,000 based on academics, skill level and need, inquire for additional room discounts, KWU Awards and Grants, these may have deadlines so please inquire early, dance is considered a varsity team sport at KWU and the University covers all costs of apparel, dancers have access to fitness center and athletic trainers
